The
Welcome you
My Lords, Ladies, Freemen of England
On behalf of our King Edward III we welcome you in this year 1358 with the capture of the Pretender of France, the so called King John, at the Battle of Poitiers. He now resides as prisoner in The Tower of London to await ransom.
Although victories have been won in France and Scotland we are still in a state of war and so by King Edward's Decree he has sent his Knights of Honour to the four corners of our kingdom to the towns and villages to find the worthy and to raise troops to further protect our lands and borders here and in France. To test them by trials of combat feats of bravery and strength.
The Knights of Honour and their Ladies welcome you here this day.
God save the King !!!
Knights of Honour
