Humphrey of Heath

Humphrey of Heath is a farm worker from the village of Heath, about 30 miles north of London just off the old Roman road of Watling Street. The son of a carpenter, his brother also became a carpenter but Humphrey was not able to work fast enough and so took to farming.

Being called upon by the local landowner to fight in France and being quite a keen archer, Humphrey fought at Crecy and then at Poitiers and as a result was appointed deputy captain of his group of archers. As his captain is rather keen on fighting in France, Humphrey spends a lot of his time back in England primarily recruiting new archers for the King's army.

Being a typical archer, Humphrey has many interests that include drinking....well, that’s it really. Buy him a drink and he’ll tell you no end of useless archery facts. And then he’ll get into a fight. And a good night will be had by all.
