Nikulev Boyar
My name is Nikulev Boyar, a strange name I acknowledge in these parts. I travelled here from the far land of Novgorod, a colder land to the north-east beyond the Tartars. My father is a merchant furrier and has allowed me to follow my own path taking passage on a Hansan merchant ship west to Lubeck then Hamburg where I joined a group of German mercenaries destined to join the good king Edward in his fight to reclaim his French throne. Since that day we have taken refuge in this great land of England. I have chosen to continue with my new king's battle and serve under Sir John of Lancaster as guard and man at arms.
This is a far more exciting life than that of a merchant although I miss home I know I have found a new one worth fighting for.
